Our appointments
We want to help all our patients access the right care at the right time. Our admin team will ask you for a brief description of your issue and liaise with GPs to get you the help you need today. You may be offered an appointment with the Community Care and Treatment team (CCATS) for testing and wound care, First Contact Physio (FCP), or the Mental Health Team or directed to the local pharmacy, optician or dentist if this is more appropriate for your care.
All consultations, either face-to-face or by phone, with a GP or practice nurse are by appointment only. We offer 3 different types of appointments:
On The Day
These appointments are only for patients who need on the day help or phone advice for a serious medical issue that cannot wait.
48 hour appointments
Patients are offered an appointment within 48 hours (or 72 hours if phoning on a Friday) for potentially serious illnesses that cannot wait for a routine GP appointment.
Routine
These appointments are for medication reviews and consultations that are important but can wait up to 2 to 4 weeks. They can also be used for patients requesting to see a specific GP to help manage ongoing health issues.
